Dining Options

Included Dining

There are a number of dining options included in your standard cruise fare. Take advantage of them!

Main Dining Room (MDR)

As the name suggests, these are the main dining rooms that are included with your cruise fare. The Royal Princess provides three MDRs. The Symphony (Deck 5), Allegro (Deck 6), and Concerto (Deck 6) are available for Breakfast, Lunch(Closed on port days), and Dinner. For dinner, we are going to try and have the entire Wedding group’s tables near each other. This is where Taylor and I will be having dinner every night. Feel free to join or take advantage of the dining that is listed below. The dinner menu includes a daily revolving set of appetizers, entrees, and desserts and a fixed menu that will not change. There will also be premium items available for an additional fee.

Tip:

You are not limited to a single appetizer, entree or dessert when ordering (Except for lobster tail). You want prime rib and the bolognese? It’s included. Want two pieces of cheesecake and a baked alaska? Vacation calories don’t count.
World Fresh Marketplace (Deck 16)

This is the standard buffet experience. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and will serve a wide variety of cuisines.

Prego Pizza (Deck 16)

This is the free pizza included on the lido deck. Princess is known for having the “Best Pizza at Sea” and I would agree it’s the best of the lines that I’ve sailed with. It’s open relatively late.

Trident Grill (Deck 16)

Also located on the lido deck. This is where you can get hot dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, and french fries. It doesn’t match Guy Fieri’s burgers from a Carnival Cruise but it’ll get the job done.

International Cafe (Deck 5)

The international Cafe is open 24 hours and perfect for the really late night snack after losing everything at the casino. They will have small pastries, sandwiches, and desserts. Coffee here is included with Plus or Premiere. Standard passengers should go to the buffet and to get free coffee.

Swirls (Deck 16)

Free soft serve ice cream by the pool. There are daily rotating flavors and sprinkles and chocolate syrup available.

Room Service/OceanNow Delivery

This is the true power of the medallion. Order food or drinks in the app and have it delivered wherever you are on the boat. There is a solid selection of both and is perfect for a late night snack or pool side drink. Standard passengers pay a delivery fee. Plus/Premier receive free delivery.

Casual Dining

Casual dining is Princess’s mid tier offerings and the part that can be the most confusing for new Princess cruisers. This list should make the offerings clear. Standard guests will have to pay at all casual dining restaurants. Plus passengers get 2 casual dining per sailing. Premier includes unlimited casual dining.

Ocean Terrace seafood bar (Deck 7)

This is the place for sushi and sashimi on the boat and my recommendation for where Plus/Premier passengers spend at least one lunch. I believe this is the only place on the boat you can get Asahi or Sapporo beer and Sake.

Tip:

If you have the drink package, all three Japanese beverages are included so have fun. Kanpai!
Alfredo's Pizzeria (Deck 6)

The sit-down pizza restaurant on the boat. Here you have a little more variety than what is included at Prego Pizza. If you prefer standard pizzas like pepperoni or cheese, then they are basically the same and probably worth skipping.

Specialty Dining

These are paid restaurants that offer varying levels of high end dining. Although Premier passengers have unlimited specialty dining included, there are exceptions and I will note those below.

Sabbatini's Italian Trattoria (Deck 5)

This is your high end Italian restaurant on board. It will serve the expected Italian cuisine and seafood.

Crown Grill (Deck 7)

This is the high end steak house on board the Royal Princess. For fans of the Texas Rangers(aka God’s baseball fans), they serve Nolan Ryan beef here.

Chef's Table Lumiere (Deck 5)

This is a once per sailing dinner that is held by the Executive Chef on board. It’s a more intimate experience with a price tag to match. Excluded from Plus/Premier

Crab Shack (Deck 5)

This is a pop-up restaurant typically held a couple times per sailing for lunch in Sabbatinis. It’s going to serve the typical seafood you would expect. Excluded from Plus/Premium.

Caymus Winemaker's Dinner (Deck 5,6)

A multi-course dining experience run by Caymus Winery. Excluded from Plus/Premier

Gelato (Deck 5)

Serves gelato(duh), specialty cakes and over the top sundaes. Plus passengers get 2 specialty desserts for free per day. Premier includes unlimited.

Ultimate Balcony Dining

For those of you who book staterooms with balconies, you have the option of a premium room service experience. This offers a deluxe breakfast that includes a half-bottle of Champagne, a basket of pastries, quiche, bacon, fresh fruit, and smoked salmon with cream cheese and bagel. Excluded from Plus/Premier.
